No Joburg joy for Higgins as Cañete wins
David Higgins crashed down the field as Argentina's Ariel Canete grabbed the inaugural Joburg Open.
The Waterville man closed with a four over par 75 to finish tied for 67th on level par in sweltering South Africa.
And that left him 19 shots adrift of surprise winner Canete, who birdied the last two holes to win by two shots from South Africa's Andrew McLardy.
Higgins got off to a nightmare start, dropping four shots in the first six holes and never recovered.
