In-form Michael Hoey scorched to a sensational eight under par 64 to share the lead AGF Allianz Golf Open de Toulouse.

The Belfast ace, 28, took three weeks off following his Challenge Tour win in Italy three weeks ago.

Now he's determined to grab a second win in Toulouse and after a three week break he feels he can keep his hot streak going.

Eight birdies in a bogey-free effort left him tied at the top with Germany's Christian Reimbold at Golf de Toulouse-Seilh.

Hoey said: “I played solid again today - I had no bogeys on the card which is something that you are always pleased with.

“I have been trying to keep the winning form going in the three weeks we have had off and it seems to have worked.

"I have playing a lot more round of golf and trying to keep a score going rather than standing hitting balls all day.

“I did that last year. I would spend hours on the range hitting balls, trying to perfect everything and I ended up confusing myself."

Hoey started on the back nine and opened with a birdie two at the 10th before picking up two more shots at the 15th and 17th.

But he really caught fire on the way home with five more birdies in a sensational back nine of just 31 blows

Dubliner Stephen Browne carded a three under par 69 after a birdie at his 16th and an eagle at the next, where his seven iron approach hit the flag and finished 20 feet away.

Michael McGeady and Colm Moriarty, who won on the third level PGA EuroPro Tour last week, posted one under par rounds of 71.
