Mooney crashes to nightmare 92
By Brian Keogh
Belfast pro Damian Mooney soared to a nightmare 92 at Adare Manor and joked: "I'm disappointed I didn't break 90."
The former big-hitting Ulsterman, 38, had a TEN at the par five ninth when he lost two balls and then closed with a NINE at the par-five 18th.
He also had a double bogey at the par three 11, a triple bogey at the eighth and six bogeys.
And while he finished 156th and dead last on 20 over par, he was still looking on the bright side afterwards.
He laughed: "It was just one of those days off the tee. If I tried to hit it straight it went left and if I aimed left it went straight.
"What can you do. I was disappointed at the last there. I thought I would break 90 but I put two balls in the river off the tee."
