Injury-plagued Eamonn Darcy has vowed that his bad back won't end his seniors career.

The Wicklow man, 55, was forced to withdraw through injury for the third time this season in the European Senior Masters at Woburn.

But he is determined to get back on track by trying a revolutionary treatment he hopes will leave him pain free.

After pulling out before the final round, he said: "I got through two days putting well, but the pain just became too much and I couldn't keep going.

"It's one of the discs in my back and I need to see somebody about this quickly. I've had this for 20 years I'm looking into a new procedure where they burn the nerve near the joint.

"I only have a few tournaments to go this year but I have already pulled out of the Senior PGA next week. Hopefully I can get back for Copenhagen in a few weeks."
