Athenian nightmare as Nolan misses the cut

Keith Nolan spectacularly imploded with a second round 81 to miss the cut by six shots in the Nationwide Tour's Athens Regional Foundation Classic in Georgia.

The Bray man, 33, slithered from tied 16th after a first round 69 to 107th on six-over par after a nightmare day at Jennings Mill Country Club in Athens.

The former Walker Cup player and two-time Irish Amateur Open champion had five bogeys and a double bogey in his first seven holes.

And while he birdied the eighth, 14th and 18th there were also five more bogeys on a nine-over par card.

American Brendon Todd (68) leads by a shot on eight under par from three players including England's Greg Owen.
