Lowry and Kearney set for West clash

Irish team mates Shane Lowry and Niall Kearney remained on course to clash in the final of the West of Ireland championship at Rosses Point.

Defending champion Lowry beat Malahide's Gavin O'Connor 2&1 and faces Strandhill's Tommy McGowan in this afternoon's quarter-finals.

South of Ireland champion Kearney beat Michael Sinclair by one hole to clinch a last eight showdown with Limerick veteran Pat Murray.
