Gillen and Coakley eighth in Spain
Ireland's Martina Gillen and Rebecca Coakley share eighth place in the Comunitat Valenciana European Nations Cup in Spain.
The Irish pair carded a three-under par 69 in Saturday’s fourball round at La Sella Resort in Denia, Alicante but are 11 strokes behind leaders France on five-under par.
Gwladys Nocera and Anne-Lise Caudal shot a seven under par 65 combined for a 54-hole total of 16-under 200 to finish two clear of Christel Boeljon and Marjet Van der Graaff from the Netherlands, who fired a six-under 66.
Australians Nikki Garrett and Joanne Mills, who led on 65 after Thursday’s fourballs, shot another round of 65 to finish at 13-under par.
Halfway leaders Beth Daniel and Meg Mallon from the United States shot 73 to fall six shots off the pace. They began the day with a two shot lead but dropped shots at the first and second holes to fall back into a share of the lead with France.
