Play golf with the stars

THIRD World charity Bothar has come up with up with a novel idea to help golfers compete in a team of four golf classic with one of their sports idols.

Golfwithstars.com, an intriguing event to be held in The K Club, Co. Kildare on October 9th 2009, is being organised to provide for a highly enjoyable sporting occasion while raising valuable funds for charity.

The principle is for an online raffle, the prizes for which will be the opportunity for the 14 winners along with two of their friends to play a round of golf in a team of four classic with a prominent sports personality.

The 14 sports people playing in golfwithstars.com are DJ Carey, Kieran Donaghy, Paul O’Connell, Peter Clohessy, Mick Galwey, Anthony Foley, Colm Cooper, Donal O’Grady, Eoin Kelly, Tommy Bowe, Johnny Murtagh, Stevie McDonnell, Benny Tierney and Oisin McConville.

Golfwithstars.com is being run to raise funds for the development aid agency, Bóthar. All monies raised will go towards supporting the charity’s projects across 40 developing world countries.

The proceeds will go towards training poor families how to look after a cow, arranging for them to grow the appropriate fodder, build the appropriate housing and then giving them one dairy cow. The project is aiming to raise €300,000 and this will enable us establish 500 poverty stricken families in their own micro- farming enterprise.

Bothar’s website is www.bothar.org

The difference between golfwithstars.com and many other celebrity golf classics is that anyone can enter the draw to be in with a chance to win. Each time you purchase a ticket for the draw you will be included in the draw to play a round of golf with one of the legendary sports stars.

In total there will be 14 winners. Each prize is an opportunity for the winner and two of their friends to play in a group of four classic with one of the sports stars followed by a presentation dinner to be held at the K-Club.

The more times you enter the draw, the better your chances of playing.
