Celebs for Irish Cancer Society Golf Charity Cup

The sun came out right on time when comedian Dermot Whelan launched the inaugural "Irish Cancer Society Golf Charity Cup" at the PGA National Course in Kildare on Saturday.

Dermot, a member of Dublin's 98 "Morning Crew", is an avid golfer and looking forward to taking on the picturesque parkland course in a Celebrity-Am on October 25th.

"I never played here before and I will enjoy the occasion even more because the Irish Cancer Society is such a worthy cause," he said.

Dermot will be joined by Brian Ormond, Jason Sherlock and TV presenter Shane O'Donoghue to play with teams of three amateurs. The tournament will be supported by the "Venture Business Network".

The programme will include a Golf Clinic with the touring Pprofessional Mark Campbell (Stackstown Golf Club) and an evening event with a Charity Dinner and Charity Auction. Oisin Langan (Newstalk Sport) will be the MC for the evening. For details & registration please see www.teeforetwogolf.com
