Ireland sixth at Sotogrande
Ireland finished sixth in the European Nations Cup as England romped to an emphatic 23-stroke victory at Sotogrande.
Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Haines, Chris Paisley and Tom Lewis finished on 830 with the silver medal going to Italy (853) and the bronze to Denmark (857).
Paul Cutler and Pat Murray posted 70s on the final day with Dara Lernihan weighing in with a 72 as Ireland finished on 865.
The individual title went to Italy’s Nino Bertasio, who closed with a 68 to pip Fleetwood (68) by a stroke on 275 with Haines third on 279 after a 71.
Cutler was the best of the Irish in a share of 11th place on 287 with Alan Dunbar tied 22nd on 282 after a final round 75. Murray was tied 27th on 294 with Lernihan tied 39th place on 297.
