Lawrie makes his move

Peter Lawrie made a significant move up the leaderboard when he carded a five under par 66 in the third round of the Sicilian Open.

The Dubliner, who celebrates his 37th birthday next Tuesday, birdied three of the first four holes at Donnafugata Golf Resort and Spa before picking up futher shots at the seventh and 13th.

He goes into Sunday’s final round just fives shots behind leader Raphael Jacquelin, who holds a one stroke lead over England’s Anthony Wall on nine under par.

Damien McGrane failed to make a birdie in a a three over 74 that relegated him to tied 64th on four over par.
