The injured Dubliner slipped two places in the latest world rankings as he recovers from the hamstring and knee injuries that kept him out of last week’s BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
He’s set to remain sidelined this week before returning to action in the FedEx St Jude Championship in Memphis on June 9.
However, he’s almost certain to tee it up at TPC Southwind ranked outside the top 50 in the world for the first time since 26 March 2000, when he was 53rd.
Shane Lowry was the biggest Irish mover in the latest rankings as his fourth place finish in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth saw him leap 59 places to 164th.
Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy remained at fifth and sixth in the world respectively with Darren Clarke down one place to 87th.
Peter Lawrie fell five spots to 133rd and Gareth Maybin four places to 144th with Damien McGrane down five to 155th.
Michael Hoey climbed five places to 215th.
