Pierse lights it up in Waterford

Arthur Pierse finished in style to win the gross in the South East Alliance at Waterford on Sunday.Tipperary’s Arthur Pierse produced an incredible finish as Waterford’s John Fanning shot a superb 66 to win the nett prize in the South East Alliance outing on his home track on Sunday.

Nett winner John FanningThree handicapper Fanning finished three shots clear of Kilkenny’s Graham Nugent with Waterford seven handicapper Joe Tobin in third after a 70.

Plus one handicapper and former Walker Cup player Pierse finished birdie, birdie, eagle, birdie to pip Waterford’s Alan Thomas for the gross by a shot with a 69
