Paddy last

Pádraig Harrington goes to pick the ball out of the hole in Thursday’s first round.

Pádraig Harrington has pulled out of next week’s BMW PGA at Wentworth which means that today’s final round of the HP Byron Nelson Championship will be his last round of golf before he begins his US Open build up, almost certainly at the FedEx St Jude Classic from June 3-9.

The Dubliner carded a one over 71 in last night’s third round, making the 54-hole cut in 70th and joint last place on one-over par.

Harrington made two bogeys and one birdie in his round, taking 32 putts and holing almost nothing after another frustrating day on the greens at the TPC Four Seasons Resort in Irving, Texas.

Keegan Bradley bogeyed the last for a 68 to lead by just one stroke from South Korea’s Sang-Moon Bae, who shot his third successive 66, on 13 under par.
