Historic double for East Cork
East Cork Golf Club completed a famous double by winning both the Junior Cup and the Challenge Cup trophies over Dun Laoghaire and Newlands respectively on a beautiful Autumn day at Mullingar Golf Club, writes the ILGU.
In the Junior Cup, the Munster ladies thrashed Dun Laoghaire 5-0 while in the Senior Cup they had a 5-1 win over Newlands.
Castletroy deafeated Carlow 2-1 in the Junior Foursomes final, losing the top match before storming back to take the title thanks to convincing wins by Ann McCarthy and Eavan Martin, and Kathleen Argue and Grainne Forde.
