Seamus Power sensationally blasted his way into the Second Stage of the Web.com Q-School in Georgia and now looks to have the momentum to go all the way and turn his brilliant form into a card for the PGA Tour's second tier circuit.

There's still a long way to go before the West Waterford man can tee it up in the Final Stage at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens in December, which would give him an automatic spot on the Web.com Tour.

But given his season on the eGolf Professional Tour — he tops the money list with more than $75,000 from 14 starts, racking up two wins and nine Top-10s — he's on course to follow in the footsteps of some famous former eGolf players.

PGA Tour Rookie of the Year Chesson Hadley is a former eGolf player not to mention FedEx Cup winner Billy Horschel or his former Walker Cup team mate Chris Kirk, who claimed  the final three FedEx Cup Playoff events between them.

During the PGA TOUR’s wraparound 2013-14 season, seven former eGolf Tour players won a total of nine tournaments - Kirk (The McGladrey Classic, Deutsche Bank Championship),  Scott Stallings (Farmers Insurance Open), Brian Harman (John Deere Classic), Haddon (Puerto Rico Open), Matt Every (Arnold Palmer Invitational), Brendon Todd (HP Byron Nelson Championship) and Horschel (BMW Championship, TOUR Championship,  FedEx Cup).

Horschel turned to the eGolf Tour during the summer months of 2009 to prepare for PGA TOUR Q-School, winning the Columbia Open to finish the season at No. 12 on the tour’s money list.

Of the 50 players to secure PGA TOUR cards on the Web.com Tour this year, 16 were former eGolf Tour players, including past members Derek Fathauer, Zack Sucher, Jon Curran and Hudson Swafford, as well as past champions Tom Gillis, Kyle Reifers and Hudson Swafford.

Power's Q-School performance was remarkable.

He finished with two birdies to card a one under 71 in the first round but then made an eagle, 21 birdies, three bogeys and just one double bogey in the next 54 holes to finish second in his qualifier at Pine Mountain in Georgia on 19 under par.

Counting his two late birdies in the first round, he was 20 under par for his last 65 holes.

As for his season on the eGolf Professional Tour, the 27-year old has a scoring average of 68.8. In 48 rounds, he's made six eagles and 222 birdies, posting 32 rounds in the 60s.
