Seamus Power took a giant step towards winning his Web.com Tour card when he fired a three under 68 in the fourth round of the Q-School in Florida.

The 27-year old from West Waterford birdied two of his last four holes on the Champions Course at PGA National that traditionally hosts the Honda Classic and moved up 10 spots to tied 13th on nine under par with just two rounds to go in the gruelling six-round test. Scores

The Top 45 after Tuesday's final round will have full cards on the PGA Tour’s second tier circuit but Power knows that the higher he finishes, the more starts he will get in 2015.

He plays the easier Fazio Course on Monday and then finishes his journey with another round on the Champions Course on Tuesday where his confidence should be sky high after another impressive performance.

The three time former Irish Youths champion birdied the par-five third, bogeyed the tricky fourth but hit back with a birdie two at the fifth and then got up and down to save par at the tough sixth.

After turning in two under, Power birdied the par-five 10th and then got up and down from 170 yards for par at the 11th after driving through the fairway into the water.

After 'good' bogey at the 14th, he entered the dreaded three-hole stretch known as the Bear Trap but birdied the short 15th from close range and then parred the 16th and 17th before finishing with a birdie four at the last.

Overnight leader Brad Fritsch of Canada shot a 65 on the Champions Course to lead by six shots from on 20 under par from Rick Cochran III (69) and by seven from Ted Purdy (69).
