Power nine behind at eGolf Tour Championship

Seamus Power

Seamus Power began his Web.com Q-School countdown by posting a one over par 73 in the opening round of the $300,000 eGolf Tour Championship at Hilton Head.

The 27-year old from West Waterford, who will bid for a solid card on the PGA Tour's second tier circuit next week, ended the day tied for 95th and nine strokes off the lead.

The former Irish Youths champion leads the eGolf Gateway Tour money list entering what is the final event of the season.

Play was suspended due to darkness after morning fog caused four hours of delays to the start of the season-ending event.

Five-time eGolf Tour winner Ryan Nelson grabbed the unofficial overnight lead with an eight-under 64 on the Cupp Course at Palmetto Hall Plantation.

A total of eight players failed to complete their rounds and play will resume at 8:20 AM on Thursday morning.
