Mehaffey retains Irish Girls Open Strokeplay with ease

Defending champion Olivia Mehaffey cruised to back-to-back victories in the Irish Girls Open Strokeplay Championship in testing conditions at Roganstown Golf and Country Club.

Leading by four shots heading into the final round, the 16-year old from Royal County Down Ladies shot a three over 74 to win by five shots from Scotland's Clara Young (71) on one over par 214.

The Heath's Mary Doyle was the next best of the Irish in sixth place on 12 over despite a closing 80.
