Sponsor back on board for North of Ireland

Peter Sinclair Chairman Ulster Branch, Gareth Maybin and Andrew Spence from sponsors Cathedral Eye Clinic at the launch of the 2014 North of Ireland Amateur Open.

Leading specialist eye clinic Cathedral Eye Clinic is to be title sponsor of the upcoming North of Ireland Championship.

The Championship, which will be played at the Royal Portrush Golf Club from 14th – 18th July 2014, is one of the highlights of the amateur golfing season attracting an enviable roster of Ireland’s most talented golfers.

The Belfast-based Clinic are back on board as title sponsors following a highly successful first year in partnership with the GUI (Ulster Branch) in 2013.

Andrew Spence of Cathedral Eye Clinic is looking forward to enjoying a successful five days of amateur golf at the event which has been a key focus for some of our leading players including Rory McIlroy, Darren Clarke, Gareth Maybin and Michael Hoey.

“The North of Ireland Championships have an enviable reputation for attracting some of the most talented golfers from across Ireland and with over 300 players scheduled to fight it out for one of the sport’s top titles we felt a partnership with the game of golf and a showcase of sporting excellence was a natural fit,” said Andrew Spence.
