Royal Dublin win Leinster final in AIG Barton Shield

The Royal Dublin side started their success story in the Leinster Finals of the AIG Barton Shield by knocking out Kilkenny and Naas in the quarter and semi finals on Friday. They went on to defeat The Island by 5 holes on Saturday to claim the Leinster pennant and take their place in the All Ireland Finals to be played at Carton House from 17-20 September.

Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd August

Quarter-finals:

  • The Island bt Dundalk 6 holes;

  • Birr bt Stackstown 2 holes;

  • The Royal Dublin bt Kilkenny 2 holes;

  • Naas bt Delgany 2 holes

Semi-finals:

  • The Island bt Birr 11 holes; Royal Dublin bt Naas 5 holes; 

Finals:

  •  Royal Dublin bt The Island 5 holes;
