World Amateur Ranking update: Moves for O'Driscoll, LeBlanc and Selfridge

Kevin Le Blanc with Spain's Mario Galiano, the new world amateur No 10

The Island's Kevin LeBlanc leapt a massive 858 places in the World Amateur Golf Ranking thanks to his 11th place finish in the Copa Andalucía in Spain last week.

He earned almost as many points for his finish in the C class event in Marbella as he did for winning the Junior Open last year and is now 2,926th in the world while Killarney's Tommy O'Driscoll, who finished 10th, jumped 594 places to 1,624th. See Irish ranking

Moyola Park's Chris Selfridge also improved his ranking significantly and is now 173rd thanks to his fifth place finish in the New Year's Invitational in Florida.

Ireland has five players in the world's Top 100 — Gavin Moynihan (34th), Paul Dunne (49th), Jack Hume (50th), Gary Hurley (66th) and Cormac Sharvin (94th) — while England has six and Scotland (4)

Oliver Schniederjans of the US, who is competing on the European Tour in Abu Dhabi this week, remained at world No 1 while Copa Andalusia winner Pep Angles moved up 27 places to 27th.

Runner up Mario Galiano is now 10th in the world, a leap of 10 places, thanks to his performance at the Real Club de Golf de Guadalmina.

In the women's ranking, Paula Grant is the leading Irishwoman at 104th. See breakdown
