Chloe Ryan just two back in Portuguese Amateur
Castletroy's Chloe Ryan couldn't reproduce her second round fireworks but she's still just two strokes off the lead entering Saturday's final round of the 85th Portuguese International Ladies Amateur Championship.
The Limerick star fired a 68 in round two but while she dropped five shots on the back nine in a four over 76 on Friday, she's tied for eighth place on a packed leaderboard at Montado Hotel and Golf Resort, 45 minutes south of Lisbon.
Italy's Lucrezia Colombotto Rosso (73) and Carlotta Ricolfi (73) share the lead on level par 216 with Germany's Olivia Cowan (73), one stroke clear of a quartet on one over — German pair Amina Wolf (73) and Esther Henseleit (71), Spain's Ana Pelaez (72) and England's Emily Slater (72).
Ryan shares eighth place on two over 218 with Spanish pair Silvia Bañon (68) and Nuria Iturrios (72) while Irish Close champion Mary Doyle from The Heath missed the cut as she shot rounds of 82, 80 and 83.
