Round-up: Maynooth win Waterville; European Club Cup for France; Duke dominate Landfall

Maynooth University captured the inaugural Jerry Murray/Notre Dame Invitational at Waterville Golf Links with James Sugrue the individual winner.

The reigning Irish Senior Cup champions finished 12 strokes ahead of Texas A&M at the famous County Kerry Links with UNC Wilmington a further 16 strokes behind in third.

Sugrue shot a final 73 to capture the individual title by three strokes from team mate Eugene Smith, who closed with a 72, on three over par 219.

Connor Black (78-78-72) was the best of the visitors alongside his Texas A&M’s team mate Ben Crancer (72-81-75) in third and fourth respectively on 12 over par 228 with Notre Dame’s Miguel Delgado (75-79-76) fifth on 230.

France win European club title

Racing Club de France won the European Men’s Club Trophy at Minthis Hills Golf Club in Cyprus on Saturday.

The Parisians finished on nine under par 417, two strokes ahead of Italy’s Royal Park I Roviri with Germany’s Golf Club Hubbelrath a shot further back in third.

In the individual standings, Ilari Saulo of Finland won by eight strokes on 13 under par 200 from Frederic Lacroix of France.

Ronan Mullarney (70, 74, 71) was the leading Irish player in 13th spot on two over with Alan Lowry (71, 8, 68) tied 22nd on seven over and Jack Walsh (79, 75, 70) 37th on 11 over.
Scottish representatives Haggs Castle were ninth, England’s Birstall Golf Club 15th and Parc Golf Club of Wales 18th.

Landfall Tradition — Duke lead into final round

Duke University has a 10 stroke lead over Oklahoma State heading into the final round at the Country Club of Landfall with world No 1 Leona Maguire six off the pace in the individual standings, tied for fourth on one under par after a second round 72

While Duke leads the team standings on five under, Notre Dame's Isabella DiLisio heads the individual standings by four shots on seven under par 137.
