Castle's Daniel Holland had to settle for a share of 19th behind Italy's Paolo Ferraris in the Portuguese Amateur Open at a windy Montado Golf Hotel and Resort near Lisbon.

After opening with two birdies to halve a four-shot gap on the leaders, Holland could't make another until the par-three 18th, signing for a two over par 74 that left him in the top half of the field on two under par.

Ferraris, 21, succeeded compatriot Renato Paratore (now on the European Tour) as champion, making eight birdies in a 68.

Double European champion Ashley Chesters, joint leader overnight,  shot 74 to tie for sixth on six under. That helped England win the Nations Cup with Chesters, Adam Chapman and Daniel Brown finishing on 274.
