Moynihan into world's Top 20; Chloe Ryan on the rise
Gavin Moynihan moved into the top 20 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking thanks to his runner up finish in the Eastern Province Border Championship in South Africa on Sunday.
The 20 year old from The Island lost in a play off to South Africa's Ian Snyman but still moved up 16 places to 19th in the world with Jack Hume (42nd), Paul Dunne (48th), Gary Hurley (61st) and Cormac Sharvin (97th) the other Irish golfers inside the world's top 100 amateur men.
American Oliver Schniederjans remained at No 1 with Spain's Jon Rahm-Rodriguez up one spot to No 2 ahead of Marcus Kinhult thanks to his brilliant share of fifth place in the Waste Management Phoenix Open on the PGA Tour.
In the women's ranking, Castletroy's Chloe Ryan leapt 25 spots to 345th thanks to her tie for 15th in the Portuguese International Ladies Amateur Championship.
