Join Darren Clarke at Royal Portrush charity event

Darren Clarke conducts a clinic for his Foundation in Portugal

Ryder Cup captain Darren Clarke is hosting a charity fund raising event for the Darren Clarke Foundation at Royal Portrush on Monday 1 June — the day after the Irish Open.

Set to host the Open Championship by 2019 or 2020, the classic links is now Clarke’s home club and he will be there to host a pre-event barbeque on Sunday evening, 31 May before the following day’s 18-hole shotgun start.

The June 1 event will be for teams of four and will be followed by lunch in the clubhouse at Royal Portrush.

Speaking on his return from the US Masters, Darren said: “I am delighted to be able to host this event at Royal Portrush which I regard as one of the finest Golf Courses in the world.

“I would like to thank Royal Portrush for allowing me host this event and I look forward to welcoming all participants and giving them the first-hand experience of just how good the golf course is.

“All proceeds are going directly to my Foundation which continues its work in relation to the support of junior golf in Ireland and cancer research."

A limited amount of teams are available at a cost of Stg£3,000 for  team of 4 players to include green fees, accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner and kit/giveaways.
