Denvir claims Allianz Grange Dublin Boys title by six shots

Powerscourt's Charlie Denvir was the runaway winner of the Paul McGinley endorsed Allianz Grange Dublin Boys 36-holes Golf Championship.

The up and coming Denvir, a 14 year old three handicapper, headed the 70 strong field with a fantastic score of 140 (73-70), finishing a clear six strokes ahead of four handicap Newlands' player Brian Fehily, who shot 73-76 and nine-handicapper Peter Byrne from the home club, who also had rounds of 73 and 76.

It was the 22nd annual staging of the popular event for boys under 16 years of age, which is promoted by the 2014 winning European Ryder Cup golfer McGinley, who learned his golf on the magnificent Grange course.
