Olivia Mehaffey and Maria Dunne were the only Irish players to make the cut in the Portuguese International Ladies Amateur Championship near Lisbon.

As Spaniard Maria Parra added a 69 to previous rounds of 66 and 68 to lead by five shots on 13 under par from Swiss star Albane Valenzuela (68) and by 11 from France’s Emma Grechi (71), world No 11  Mehaffey moved up to 10th.

The Royal County Down star posted a one over 73 for a share of 10th on three over par

Skerries favourite Dunne made a two at the 18th to make the cut with a second successive 75 for  37th spot on eight over.

The rest of the Irish missed out with Jessica Ross (Donaghadee) one shot outside the mark after a third successive 75 in 41st.

Forrest Little’s Julie McCarthy (74) and Killarney’s Mairead Martin (73) found form but had too many shots to make up in order to make the cut.

Martin had a very interesting round which included six bogeys, five birdies and seven pars.

Lahinch’s Sinead Sexton (82), Lisburn’s Paula Grant (75) and Castletroy’s Chloe Ryan (78) also ended up with the final round off while Mary Doyle retired.
