Niall Turner endured an agonising wait before eventually squeaking through the cut on the mark in the Bashundhara Bangladesh Open.

The Muskerry player was under pressure after opening with a two over 73 but having done the hard work by covering his opening nine holes in an immaculate, three under 33, he came home in 37 for a 70 that left him just outside the top 65 and ties for most of the day until mistakes by players on the course dropped the cut mark from level to one over.

Turner bogeyed the third, his 12th but having snatched that shot back with a birdie at the fifth, he made a double bogey five at the eighth.

At one over par, he's 13 shots behind Thailand’s Thitiphun Chuayprakong, who shot a bogey-free, five-under 66 to lead by two shots on 13 under from  Korea’s Soomin Lee (69).
