The Irish Girls team finished ninth in Norway
Ireland's men's team lost 4-1 to the hosts to finish sixth in the European Amateur Team Championship in France.
Scotland retained the title with a 5-2 win over Sweden to boost their changes of a big presence in the St Andrews Trophy team, which is picked next week. But there are high hopes that Jack Hime and Stuart Grehan will also make it with Conor O'Rourke also likely to be considered when the selectors sit down to make their picks.
There was better news at European Girls Amateur Team Championship in Norway, where Ireland beat Slovakia 4.5 to 0.5 in the Flight B final to finish ninth overall.
At the European Ladies’ Team Championship in Iceland, singles wins for Olivia Mehaffey, Jessica Ross and Maria Dunne secured a 3-2 win over the host country and 15th place overall as the title went to England following their 3-2 win over Spain.
