Rosslare's John Brady captured his third title of the year with a stunning six-shot win over the in form Mark Power in the Irish Boys Under 16 Championship at Clonmel.

Two clear overnight, the 16-year old made four birdies and three bogeys in a one under 70 to win on nine under par 204 as Power shot a 74.

“I knew I was capable of winning,” Brady told the GUI. “I played really well today.”

The 16-year-old from Rosslare came into the week on the back of a victory at the Ulster Under-16 Boys.

The highlight of this week's win was his immaculate, seven under 64 in round two.

Dundalk’s Eoin Murphy produced the low round of the day, a 68, to finish third. Murphy was in red figures after making four birdies on the front nine and he finished two behind Power on one under.

McGimpsey retains Ulster Seniors

Royal Portrush's Garth McGimpsey retained the Ulster Seniors Open Championship, carding a pair of 74s to win by two shots on two over 148 from clubmate Richard McDowell Rosapenna's Con Boyce at Castlerock.

Rosapenna's Michael Gaynor won the Ulster Veterans Trophy.
