Ireland's Julie McCarthy is tied for eighth after two rounds of the Duke of York Champions Trophy at Royal Birkdale.
She added a 77 to her opening 71 for a two round total of 148 which leaves her six strokes behind Norway's Marcus Braddie (69-73) who has a one shot lead over Finland's Sami Vilimaki heading into the final round.
McCarthy had two birdies and seven bogeys in a tough round to slip back from joint second overnight.
The Duke of York Young Champions Trophy is an international 54 hole stroke play golf tournament for young men and women who are either the current holders of their Under 18 National Championship or have won some other major golfing event in the preceding year.
