Sharvin and Grant advance at Q-School
Ardglass' Cormac Sharvin and Mount Juliet's Stephen Grant cruised into November's Second Stage of the European Tour Qualifying School.
Former Walker Cup player Sharvin, 23, closed with a one under 71 at The Roxburgh in Scotland to qualify with ease on six under par at a venue where 22 players on one under or better progressed.
Ex-professional footballer Grant, 39, also made it through in style, playing his final 36 holes at Fleesensee (an hour south of Rostock in northern Germany) in five under par to make it with a shot to spare on four under 284.
The Birr native has struggled with his game over the past year but he found form in Germany and must now have a fighting chance of achieving what would be a dream ticket to the European Tour.
