Moynihan still in the game in China

Challenge Tour — Gavin Moynihan chiselled out a second successive 72 to make the one-over-par cut with a shot to spare in the Foshan Open in China.
The Dubliner is ranked 23rd in the Road to Oman standings, just €8,157 outside the top 15 who gain automatic promotion to the European Tour.
And with just two events remaining after this week, every euro earned is crucial for the newly-appointed Mount Juliet touring professional, who is tied for 45th on level par.
Moynihan is 12 strokes behind leader Zhang Hui-lin of China, who carded an eight-under-par 64 and take a three-shot lead at halfway from Welshman Oliver Farr.
A two-time winner on the China Tour, Zhang started the day two shots behind overnight leader Callum Tarren but charged into the lead with six birdies over the front nine.
The 28-year-old continued to make inroads over the back nine through his excellent short game by holing a 25-foot birdie putt on the 15th and a 20-foot putt for birdie at the 18th.
Farr, 29, carded eight birdies en route to a six under par 66 sit alone in second on nine-under.
Spain’s Pedro Oriol, who is currently ninth on the Road to Oman, signed for a five under par 67 to share third place with England’s Tarren and the Netherlands’ Daan Huizing.
