County Louth's Thomas Mulligan added a 74 to his opening 75 to move up to tied 29th in the Italian Amateur Open Championship in Lecce.
The 17-year-old is on five-over-par 147, ten strokes behind American star Sean Crocker, who shot a second round 69 at Acaya Golf and Country Club to lead by one stroke from Finland's Sami Valamaki on five-under-par.
County Sligo's Declan Reidy followed his first round 77 with an 80 and at 15-over, he's in danger of missing the 54-hole cut for the top 50 and ties.
