Dunne digs deep in South Africa
Paul Dunne produced a three under 68 under pressure to make the cut with a shot to spare in the Tshwane Open at Pretoria Country Club.
The Greystones man was in trouble after he opened with a two over 73, then dropped an early shot in the second round.
But he made just one more bogey all day and added four birdies — three of them birdie twos — to move up 57 places to 49th on one-under.
The former Walker Cup player is nine strokes adrift of Alexander Björk (67) and Scott Jamieson (65) who lead by one shot on 10-under-par from England's James Morrison and by two from home trio Thomas Aiken, Peter Karmis and Justin Walters.
Darren Clarke missed the cut by six strokes after rounds of 74 and 77 and has now made just two cuts in the last 12 months — at the Irish Open and The Open.
