Kilpatrick wins by three at Dromoland
Banbridge's Richard Kilpatrick warmed up for the Irish Club Professional tournament by winning the Pro-Am curtain-raiser at Dromoland Castle on Wednesday.
The former East of Ireland Amateur Open winner carded a fine five under par 67 to win by three shots from Waterville's David Higgins and Monkstown's Cian McNamara.
Damien McGrane guided the Ballykisteen trio of Pat Barrett, Clement Hehir and Bill Hanley to success in the team competition with an excellent return of 93 points.
The 36-hole Irish Club Professional event, sponsored by Carr Golf and Citroen Ireland gets underway at 7.50am on Thursday morning.
Defending champion Higgins is off at 9.30am alongside Damien McGrane and Colm Moriarty (Drive Golf Performance).
