O'Keeffe and O'Sullivan lead at Tralee; USA takes huge Palmer Cup lead
Irish Amateur Open champion Peter O'Keeffe and Ballybunion's Fergal O'Sullivan hold a one-stroke lead heading into the final round of the Kerry Scratch Cup at Tralee.
Douglas' O'Keeffe, back in action after a recurring neck strain kept him out of the East of Ireland Championship last week, shot rounds of 76 and 75 to match O'Sullivan in high winds at the Kerry links.
They lead by three strokes from Kinsale's John Murphy (77-77) with Ted Collins a shot further back on 155.
US takes commanding lead in Palmer Cup
Palmer Cup — The United States all but won back the Palmer Cup when they claimed nine and a half points from 10 singles to take a 14.5 - 5.5 lead into the final day at Atlanta Athletic Club.
With the matches tied after Friday's foursomes and fourballs, it appeared a tight first single session might be on the cards but the US was rampant with only Viktor Hovland snatching a half as he came from two down with three to play to level with Maverick McNealy on the 18th.
Stuart Grehan was behind from the moment Sam Burns eagled the first hole and lost 2 and 1.
