The South of Ireland Championship has attracted a stellar entry this year with no fewer than 121 entrants playing of plus one or better.

Naas' Conor O'Rourke leads the entrants with a handicap of plus five and with all ten of last year's Home Internationals side entered, it promises to be the strongest field for the Pierse Motors Volkswagen sponsored event in some time.

With the Irish team for August's Home Internationals set to be picked shortly after the South, the championship represents a final chance for players on the fringes of selection to push for a place in the team that will travel to Moortown.

The field is limited to 150.
