Sharvin leads the chase in Sardinia

Cormac Sharvin is the best of the Irish but Gavin Moynihan and Chris Selfridge only made the cut on the limit in the Italian Challenge Open by Lyoness.
As Scotland’s Bradley Neil carded his seventh consecutive sub-70 round to take a share of the halfway lead with Joel Sjöholm and Reinier Saxton on 13-under par, Sharvin added a 67 to his opening 68 to get to seven under.
Moynihan followed his opening 66 with a 73 to slip back to three under par and make the cut on the mark alongside Selfridge, who posted rounds of 70 and 69.
Ruaidhri McGee missed out by a shot on two-under after a level par 71 with Gary Hurley four shots outside the mark after rounds of 72 and 71 and Stephen Grant (77-70) four shots further back.
Leader Neil finished a career-best tied second at last week’s Prague Golf Challenge.
The 21-year-old, who became the 2014 Amateur Champion after beating South Africa’s Zander Lombard in the final at Royal Portrush, followed his first round 65 with a bogey-free 64, which included seven birdies at Is Molas Resort.
Two further back on eleven under is America’s Chase Koepka, while Wales’s Oliver Farr and Finland’s Oliver Lindell share fifth place on ten under overall.
Switzerland’s Joel Girrbach bounced back from an opening 74 to sign for a 63 and reach five under overall – comfortably making the three-under par cut.
