Asian Tour Q-School: Kearney misses cut by one
Royal Dublin's Niall Kearney missed the 36-hole cut by a single stroke at the Final Stage of Asian Tour Qualifying School in Thailand.
The Dubliner (30) was tied for 181st on five-over-par after rounds of 75 and 72 when play was suspended on Thursday following the weather delays on the opening day.
Nearly half the field, 118 players, returned to St Andrews 2000 and Rayong Green Valley Country Club early on Friday to complete their second rounds.
But while the cut mark for the top 140 and ties went up from three-over to four-over 146 and 153 players progressed, Kearney's five-over 147 total left him tied 154th, one-stroke shy of survival.
South Korea's Minkyu Kim (70 66) and Australia's Steven Jeffress (66 70) led on six-under going into today's delayed third round.
The leading 70 and ties after 72 holes proceed to the fifth and final round held only at the Rayong Green Valley Country Club.
At the conclusion of 90 holes, the top 35 players and ties will be ranked accordingly for the 2018 season.
