O'Rourke makes key move at Q-School

Conor O’Rourke

Naas’ Conor O’Rourke made six birdies in a four-under 68 to move inside the qualifying places heading into final round of the European Tour Qualifying School First Stage in Portugal.

He’s tied for 13th on two-under at Bom Sucesso where the top 19 and ties after today’s final round will progress to next month’s Second Stage at one of four Spanish venues.

His club mate, amateur Jonathan Yates, slipped four shots outside the top 19 with a four-over 76 to share 37th on three-over with Castleknock’s David Carey two strokes further back after a 71.

In France, Peter Williamson missed the three round cut at Golf d’Hardelot, finishing on 11-over after a third round 73.
