Mehaffey our best in Slovakia; Coulter contending in Norway

Olivia Mehaffey

Olivia Mehaffey is ten shots behind Spain's Celia Barquin heading into the final round of the European Ladies' Amateur Championship in  Slovakia.

She shot a one-under 71 on day three at Penati Golf Resort where thunderstorms skirt the venue but did not disrupt play.

The electrics all came from Barquin who carded a course-record, bogey-free, nine-under 63 to take a two-shot lead over halfway leader Esther Henseleit (70) into the final day.

Three players are tied for third place on nine-under-par, Marina Escobar, Alessia Nobilio, and Frida Kinhult, while defending champion, Agathe Laisne, is six shots off the pace on seven-under-par in sixth.

The winner will earn an invitation to the 2019 Ricoh Women's British Open.
