Naas' Maurice Kelly is tied for 13th but top of the Over 65s standings after opening with a one-over 73 in The Seniors Amateur Championship at Royal Porthcawl.

Trevor Foster shot a nine-under 63 to lead by seven shots from Scot Kenneth Gallacher and American Gene Elliott.

Adrian Morrow's four-over 76 was good enough to share 44th place with Steven Graham, leaving them tied for third behind Kelly in the over 65s.
