Dunne seeks "ongoing medical advice" for recent injury
Paul Dunne has revealed that the injury that forced him to miss the Final Stage of the European Tour Qualifying School first appeared on November 4.
The Wicklow man, who turns 28 next week, gave the impression last week that he had been struggling with the injury for some time when he indicated by text that he was unable to make the trip to Lumine Golf Club in Tarragona for the six-round Q-School due to “an ongoing wrist injury.”
However, he clarified the issue yesterday, explaining: “It’s a situation that’s been ongoing since an incident on November 4th when I was practicing at home.
"It worsened over the next few days at which point I sought medical advice which is ongoing. At this stage I’m uncertain about the next stage of treatment.”
Dunne finished 124th in the Race to Dubai this year to lose full playing privileges on the European Tour.
Ranked 327th in the world, the 2017 British Masters champion played 24 events this season, making just nine cuts.
He was third in the ISPS Handa World Super 6 Perth in February and tied fourth in the Made in Denmark presented by FREJA in late May but then missed 12 of 14 cuts to fall from 62nd in the Race to Dubai to 124th after the Portugal Masters.
