O’Meara begins golf tourism adventure
Maurice O'Meara knows a thing or two about welcoming golfers from all over the world to the emerald isle.
He was, after all, General Manager at Killarney Golf and Fishing Club when it hosted the Irish Open in 2010 and 2011 and also staged regional qualifiers for The Open when in the same role at The Island.
After moving back to Kerry to manage Dooks Golf Club, he went on to become Commercial Manager for Kerry GAA but has now returned to golf and launched a new venture — Discover Ireland Golf Tours.
“My heart has always been in golf," O'Meara said of his return to the golf tourism sphere. "Ireland is an exceptional golf destination and having worked in Ireland’s top golf clubs, I now want to combine my experience and passion for golf in this new venture.
"Whether it’s a golf vacation, a corporate event or a small group tour, Discover Ireland Golf Tours will work directly with clients to not only provide a professional and efficient service but also ensure an unforgettable experience of a lifetime."
Bespoke services on offer include in-house PGA professionals available for escorted tour and tuition and 24-hour concierge services.
To celebrate the launch, Discover Ireland Golf Tours will host its first event, the “Links & Lakes Championship” at Dooks Golf Club and Killarney Golf & Fishing Club from April 5-6.
Competitors will stay at the Castlerosse Park Resort and limited places are still available. For more details go to www.discoverirelandgolftours.com or contact Maurice directly at info@discoverirelandgolftours.com or +353 871401327
