Warrenpoint retained Irish Junior Foursomes when they beat a brave Blainroe by five holes in the All Ireland final at Castle Dargan.

John Dunne and Bailey Wilson put in a strong finish to beat David Lally and Conor Leonard by three holes as Rian Carvill and Jack Murtagh were also forced to dig deep to defeat Jonathan Ryan and Liam Connolly by two holes at the rain-sodden Sligo venue.

Warrenpoint won the title for the first time on home soil in 1987 before claiming it again at Tramore last year.

It was Blainroe’s first appearance in an All Ireland final and they acquitted themselves well, beating Tuam by one hole in a tight semi-final as Warrenpoint defeated Faithlegg by seven holes.

In the Irish Boys Inter-Club Championship, Tullamore retained the title when they amassed 115 points from their three best cards to win by just seven points from Tandragee.

The Ulster champions were hoping to bring the Ulster club just their second All Ireland pennant following their breakthrough Jimmy Bruen Shield win at Westport last weekend.
