Purcell eyes maiden win in Egypt
Portmarnock’s Conor Purcell is chasing his maiden professional win on the MENA Tour in Egypt.
The Dubliner sits alone in fifth in the $75,000 NEWGIZA Open in Cairo, three shots behind England’s Curtis Knipes on seven-under.
A Walker Cup player last year, he followed an opening 70 with a 67 at NEWGiza Golf Club to give himself in a chance of winning the $13,500 top prize in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Tour event.
