The K Club rebrands courses under new owner

The Smurfit Golf Club at The K Club has been rebranded The Straffan Golf Club ahead the Irish PGA Pro-Am sponsored by CFM Group Business Insurance on July 10.

The PGA in Ireland event will mark the official launch of the newly renamed club at The K Club, which is now owned by nursing homes operator Michael Fetherston.

The K Club will host two Irish PGA Pro-Ams this summer with the July 10 event to be played on what will now be known as the Palmer South Course, followed on August 23 by another event on the Ryder Cup course, which has now be rebranded the Palmer North Course.

“I am honoured to welcome the first PGA Pro-Am of the year to our newly launched Straffan Golf Club,” Mr Fetherston said.

“The Palmer South course is in superb condition and we are delighted to bring this inaugural event here. The teams at The Straffan Club and The K Club would like to particularly thank Paul Kelly and CFM Group Business Insurance for their generous sponsorship.”

At €700 per team of one pro and three amateurs, registration is available now on www.kclub.ie for the first Straffan Golf Club Irish PGA Pro-Am on July 10, with the additional option to register as a package for both Pro-Ams for €1,200 per team, with priority given to joint registrations.
